We know and understand what ecology surveys are required, or just useful, and when they can or need to be done, which really helps our clients get the right surveys done at the right time.

A a member, we are guided by CIEEM for best practice technical guidance and standards in species and habitat survey and our reports also meet the requirements of BS42020:2013 (the biodiversity code of practice for planning and development).

Most clients start with a Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (PEA) which is an extended Phase 1 Habitat Survey, usually based on a desktop study and a site visit and our reports include digital maps using GIS, identifying the habitats present and the potential for protected species.
